2. The review process
Every upload passes through review before it becomes visible to others.
- Processing — the file is encoded for streaming.
- Automated review — the video, thumbnail, title and description are screened by automated safety systems. Most videos clear this stage within minutes.
- Human review — if the automated system is unsure, or is temporarily unavailable, a person reviews the video.
- Decision — the video is published, or rejected with a reason shown on your channel.
3. Rejection reasons
The reason is shown on the video card on your channel. Common reasons: guideline violation, copyright match, unreadable or corrupt file, misleading thumbnail, or review timeout.
4. Editing after publishing
You can edit the title, description, tags, thumbnail and visibility at any time. Significant edits to the thumbnail or title may trigger a fresh review. You cannot replace the video file itself — upload a new video instead.
5. Deleting videos
Deleting a video removes it from public view immediately. It is permanently erased from our storage within 30 days, and from encrypted backups within 6 months. Deleting a video does not remove an associated strike.
6. Visibility settings
- Public — visible to everyone and eligible for recommendations and search.
- Unlisted — only people with the link can watch it.
- Private — only you can watch it.
All uploads are reviewed regardless of visibility setting.
7. Prohibited upload behaviour
- Mass-uploading near-identical videos.
- Uploading content downloaded from other platforms without rights.
- Using misleading thumbnails or titles that do not reflect the content.
- Automated or scripted uploading.
